A leap of faith

Well hello there! Long time no see, I do hope you had a wonderful Christmas and your new year is off to a cracking start! I seemed to set a goal last year to start publishing a blog post every Monday and Friday, and thus abruptly stopped writing anything at all. I guess the pressure of a blogging quota just doesn’t flow well with the fact that I just love being creative and writing about what I want, when I want. I know that random blogging isn’t necessarily the best approach to trying to attract more readers but, I just don’t think that’s my style right now I’m afraid!

Anywho, I just wanted to check in before I head off to India on Saturday, and give you all a much needed life update, as I don’t think I’ve explained everything that’s been going on lately!

I have been saying for so long that I wanted to change careers, but nothing ever seemed to click into place. Then Bali happened… It was totally unexpected, but yoga just seemed to pop into my life like “ooh hello! I’m yoga, I’m going to bring you peace of mind, joy, freedom, connection, health and a bunch of other awesome stuff! Do you mind if I just nestle myself here in this little space you have in your heart? Cool, thanks” and there it has well and truly stayed!

More than that, it has lit something up inside me. It has given me a new hope of opportunity and adventure, a sense of connecting to others, helping heal and making a mark on the world. I felt like I’d found my calling.

So I quit my job.

Ok so it’s notย quiteย as dramatic as it sounds, as I have to give a year’s notice so I won’t actually be leaving until October! Since then I’ve already become a Level 2 Fitness Instructor, and gained a certificate in Life Coaching. But most excitingly is what’s coming next: a 200 hour Yoga Teacher Training in Rishikesh, India!

I’m lucky in that I get to take 4 weeks paid leave in order to do training, so off I go! I can’t quite believe that I’m doing this. I finally bit the bullet, acknowledged a few things in life needed to change, and then did the hard part of actually putting plans into action!

I’m heading to Rishikesh without an ounce of nerves, but with an open heart and open mind. I’m unbelievably excited to learn, to immerse myself in this beautiful practice and way of life. I can’t wait to be able to share even more with you all and my family and friends when I return.

Sometimes you just have to take a leap of faith…
